Ann Hebden

I made hand built ceramic sculptures, to be used and viewed outdoors, for over thirty years but a move to the Essex coast, near Harwich, prompted me to start experimenting with wheel thrown Porcelain. Increasingly my work is inspired by Japanese and Vietnamese ceramics, some unglazed, some with Celadon or clear glaze. During lockdown I studied Calligraphy and illuminated letters and am enjoying producing hand made tiles with calligraphy based on the fifteenth century white vine letters from Florence, completed with gold lustre.

Recent exhibitions include Anglian Potters at RHS Hyde Hall, online Anglian Potters for the last two years and local events.
