Alan Ellis
I cannot recall a time in my life when I have not been involved with the visual arts. Life drawing with other artists has been increasingly important to me during the last thirty years, providing a foil for the abstraction of my painting.
For the past eleven years I have lived in Peldon, a village on the edge of the marshes and estuaries, the boatyards and the beaches and the sea of North East Essex and it's coastline.
At some time in most days I walk for an hour or so in this fascinating area, part of which I can see from my window. Observations and sketches made on these walks provide a starting point for paintings.
