Ian Hay
A word from Ian Hay
I have taught objective drawing to art and design students for forty years and I firmly believe it is the basis of all visual communication. I constantly draw in sketchbooks which provides the reference for the content of my paintings.
I love towns and cities and particularly enjoy drawing on location in London, Amsterdam, Paris and Venice where architecture is often echoed by waterways. I have taken many students on field trips to European towns and cities and have always encouraged them to draw and record their visual experiences into sketchbooks. In short I practice what I preach!
