Mel King
I work mainly in oils, watercolours and acrylics, sometimes on a single support or often a diptych or triptych format. Subjects range from coastal views around Harwich and Dorset to studio interiors and windows (my studio window overlooks the estuary over to Shotley and Felixtowe). Much of my work is based on the observation of light but I often like to include unexpected elements as in “Zebra, Lyme Bay”. These elements always have a rational basis, in this case a graffiti zebra seen in Lyme Regis
I was born in Hertfordshire, attended St Albans, Central School and the Royal Academy Schools postgraduate, now living in Harwich. Visitors welcome, e mail me at Melking2@aol.com or via the CAS
