At its most fundamental, my practice investigates the translation of the abstract information which enters the eye into meaningful forms and compositions
I am particularly interested in pareidolia, the phenomenon whereby we perceive patterns and forms in abstract data. In the context of portraits and figurative drawing more generally, I work to explore the limits of representation, tapping into the human predilection for face-recognition to communicate a sense of subject on a subconscious level.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Colchester School of Art in 2016, winning the Linklaters prize for most outstanding artwork.
