David Piercy

I am a Colchester based artist, working primarily as a carver in stone. For my sculpture, I use traditional hand tools and methods. I sometimes work from sketches, but prefer to draw directly onto the stone whenever possible. My work originates from imagination rather than nature. My influences are Brancusi, Modigliani, Moore and Gaudier-Brzeska. I also make constructions, collages, paintings and photo based work.
