Derek Woolston

My paintings are an intuitive response to what visually interests me and what develops on the canvas. I don't plan what will happen but remembrance, intrigue and fiction fall into the melting pot of invention, colour and form to create an enigmatic autonomous image.

I was born in Norfolk and spent most of my life in Norwich before moving to Braintree in recent years. I studied at Norwich School of Art (BA Hons) and did a PGCE at University of London.
