Giampiero Romani

Artist, author, chef.

Ever since I was a little boy, I have felt most alive and connected to myself, when making and creating – whether that be with paint, words or food.

I moved to the UK, from the Sabina Hills of Italy, near Roma, to live with my English partner and our aged cat, in 2016. Suffolk is now very much my home.

Moving to the UK helped me to focus on the specific elements that inspire my work. For me, painting is an alchemy, a magic that combines shape, texture and colour to reflect an emotion. As with my love of jazz, my paintings are sometimes freeform, sometimes smooth – an extension of my mood.

When I am not painting, I run small workshops and one to one classes, sharing my love and passion for food, via my cooking school ‘Cook Like the Italians’.
