Jane Lewis

Jane lives in rural Suffolk and is a painter in oil and watercolour.

The landscape is her starting point for painting - she walks through it everyday in all weathers, all seasons often taking the same path, seeing the same fields, trees and woods etc. There are superficial changes daily though the underlying structure remains constant. In this way the elements add to her internal visual vocabulary.

Colour, tone, shape, line, weather, temperature, light and shade all coalesce and distill and will at some point contribute to a painting.

She has an Honours degree in Fine Art from UCW Aberystwyth and has exhibited throughout the UK including RA, RWA (Bristol), Mall Galleries and Bankside and is an elected member of the Royal Watercolour Society for whom she is currently Education Officer.
