Julie Orpen

I studied Graphic Design at Norwich School of Art, but my printmaking journey started at Gainsborough’s House Print workshop in Sudbury.

I produce Lino prints and Engravings that are usually inspired by the natural world around me and I attempt to convey the movement in nature when I design my work, as well as a sense of depth. I have recently been making prints of various birds and animals using their collective noun as a theme.

I exhibit regularly in East Anglia, individually and with ‘PRINTmakers’ - a group formed from printmaking friends. I have been selected to exhibit at Norwich Print fair several times, and also for the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) at the Mall Galleries, London.

I have also had my work accepted for The Society of Wood Engravers Annual exhibition in the last couple of years, which opens at the Bankside gallery and then tours to galleries around the country.
