Julian Hardy Artist - Printmaker
Julian Hardy was born, and grew up, in Norfolk. After graduating from the University of Wales, he worked for several years in Japan, before returning, to settle in East Anglia.
He is an artist – printmaker, working mainly through the mediums of Lino-cut and Collagraph. Drawing is central to his practice; usually starting from sketchbook material, his work, while mainly derived from figuration, can shade into abstraction as the motif suggests. The built environment, landscape, and coast, are among main concerns.
His work is held in London at The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, at Kelvedon and Feering Museum, and in private collections. He has exhibited at the Minories Gallery in Colchester, and at various other galleries in Essex and Suffolk.
He is a member of Colchester Art Society, and Gainsborough’s House Print Workshop.
