Nevina Williams

I am an Artist and my practice is currently based in Colchester, Essex. My work explores the use of colour, composition and space. The processes that I use are informed and driven by my observation of society and are influenced by industrial space, architecture and landscape.

The paintings that I create are hard edge, colourful, vibrant and unique. The colours and composition of each painting are chosen intuitively and are on occasion site specific.

When starting a new body of work I gather information, create sketches and experiment with colour application. New areas of interest are singled out leading to the next new body of work. Bringing colour, space and people together.

I studied Fine Art at Manchester School of Art and achieved a Master's degree in Public Art at the University of Essex. I have exhibited in many group shows most recently at the Galleria De Marchi, Bologna Italy, Brick Lane Gallery London and The Lido Stores Gallery in Margate. I have also been part of group exhibitions in Norwich, Colchester, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Stratford Upon Avon, Aldeburgh and the University of Essex. I have a degree in Further and Higher Education and have taught Fine Art in Northern Collages.
