More details for ‘Castles in Spain’ trip in June 2013 Equally welcome are professional and amateur artists as well as anybody who would just like to have a lovely holiday. All prices are included unless stated otherwise. That is to say all breakfasts, all dinners with wine, excursions and airport transfers. It should be noted that in our stay at the 4 star Parador Hotel you might be tempted to buy extra drinks or snacks from the bar or mini bar in the room. Going out of the hotel would of course be much less expensive for these extras. The flight from Stansted is extra and will vary according to how much luggage you wish to take and how early you book. The holiday price of €1,130 is per person, based on 2 people sharing a double room and depends on us having a minimum of 30 participants. The single room supplement is €90. As on previous trips Colin will organise a coach at cost price starting in Brightlingsea, stopping at Wivenhoe and Colchester for transfers to and from Stansted. This has worked very well in the past and is a great deal cheaper than airport parking. Deposits of half the total price should be paid to Katie Richardson who has organised the accommodation. These are due by November 30th 2012. Katie, a fluent Spanish speaker, will be accompanying the flight and staying with us. She will make airline bookings on behalf of people who don’t have access to the internet; otherwise you will be expected to book your own flight. You will be contacted when flight bookings are open. Day 1 The morning flight from Stansted to Valladolid. Coach transfer to your hotel in Zamora. On this night the evening meal will be in the hotel and is included in the price. Day 2 Morning: We divide into 2 groups for a guided walking tour with English speaking guides. Afternoon: Free to do your own thing. Dinner in nearby restaurant. Day 3 Again the day is free for you to relax or explore the town. Dinner in nearby restaurant. Day 4 Depart in the morning in our air conditioned coach for an excursion to the historic town of Salamanca. On our return we will stop to have dinner and sample wines in a typical bodega. Days 5 & 6 Days for sketching, relaxing, swimming, or exploring Zamora. Dinners in nearby restaurant. Day 7 Our coach takes us to the gorges of the river Duero with an optional boat ride included in the price. Followed by a trip to the village of Miranda just across the border in Portugal. Return to Zamora for dinner. Days 8 & 9 Free to do your own thing again but it should be noted that a 3 day festival of food, wine, crafts and entertainments starts on day 8 which should provide plenty to see and do as well as the opportunity to relax by the pool in the hotel. Dinners again will be in a nearby restaurant. Day 10 In the morning our coach takes us to Valladolid to catch our return flight. We will be met at Stansted by our transfer coach to take us home.
Deposits for those who have decided to go are due by 30th November 2012. The deposit is 50% payable in Sterling at the exchange rate at the time. The balance is due by 3 weeks before departure in June 2013. Later participants will need to pay deposits at the time of joining.
