Years ago I went to Chelsea Art School and Ravensbourne School of Art & Design for a foundation and BA in Fine Art.
The chance of a studio at Ardleigh Studios was irresistible and I was the first in when they opened in November 2015. Painting is a real joy, hard work though it often is.
My work is about the landscapes I work and walk in. I try to paint the sense of place, a feeling if you like, rather than try and recreate a representational image of a particular view.
My paintings are as much about the act of painting as they are about looking and drawing outside. The painting itself has its own demands and I enjoy the tussle with oils and soft pastels to make it work.
