CAS at 80, Beecroft exhibition

We are delighted to be invited back to the Beecroft Gallery and invite members to enter one artwork for selection online this time. The exhibition will include works from the CAS permanent collection presenting an overview of the work of the Colchester Art Society in our anniversary year. The gallery will be taking 30% commission on sales. They have requested works priced at over £100 to be submitted. CAS will not be taking commission but will have to charge the usual £10 submission fee to cover our costs.

Transport of works selected has been arranged on the 23rd February from the Minories. For collection from Harwich email daphnesandham@gmail.com or 07813732078. Those who had works in the Essex Open at the Beecroft will be able to collect not selected or unsold works from the Minories on the 24th February.

How to Submit

Deadline: Wednesday 11th February, 12noon

Deadline for submitting one work via the online submission form (scroll down to the bottom of this page). The image you submit will be a high quality JPEG sent with your name and title of work in the file name. Selection will be made from the image you submit, so ensure that the work is evenly lit and represents your work accurately. Artwork prices to include the frame.

Make sure you have attached mirror plates half way up the sides and you have labelled the back, or underneath if 3D, with your Name, Title & Price. If to be wall-hung your artwork must be ready to hang.

Handling Fee: £10 for one entry (which is non-refundable). Please make a payment via BACS at the time of submission to the Colchester Art Society Sort: 30-92-16 Account Number: 01909398 using your name & Beecroft as a reference.

Once you have submitted we regret it will not be possible to change any specifications.

Important Dates

Tuesday 17th February: Notification will be sent to you if unsuccessful.
Monday 23rd February, 10am-12pm: Deliver your work to the Minories, please don’t be late as the van will be on it’s way by 12.05pm.
Tuesday 24th February, 10-12pm The Minories: Collect unsold work from the Essex Open.
Saturday 7th March, 12-2pm: Meet the Artists party, all welcome.
Sunday 17th May: Exhibition closes.
Monday 18th May 2-4pm: Collection of unsold work from Harwich or the Minories. The Minories cannot be expected to store your work.
