Film and Audio
The Colchester Art Society film archive is envisaged as an extension of the Permanent Collection. The films aim to encourage a general appreciation of the visual arts by offering a readily accessible source of information and understanding about some of our most notable members and key figures in the history of the Society. The films about artists allow us to see and hear the subject, often in their working studio, talking about their ideas and processes. We see not only the finished pieces but we see them develop and the way in which they employ different materials and techniques.
The collection also features a series of audio conversations recorded and edited by Colchester Art Society member Nat Young for Colne Radio.
