We invite you to respond to the landscape John Constable loved to paint in whichever medium you choose. This exhibition is part of the Constable 250 celebrations for his birthday on 11th June 1776. 20% commission on sales will go to the National Trust.
How to Submit
Deadline: Thursday 30th March, 12noon
Deadline for submitting one or two works via the online submission form (scroll down to the bottom of this page). The image(s) you submit will be high quality JPEGs. Artwork prices to include the frame.
To submit a second work, refresh the page and fill in the form again. You will receive a confirmation email for each submission. The email will be sent to the address you supply on the form. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours please check your spam folder, if it is not there please email cas.submissions@gmail.com to check that we have received your submission(s).
Selection will be live this time, the images you send will give the selection panel an idea what is coming in and will be used for labelling.
Handling Fee: £10 for one or two entries which is non-refundable. We are charging one price for either one or two entries. Please make a payment via BACS at the time of submission to the Colchester Art Society Sort 30-92-16 Account Number 01909398 using your name & Flatford as a reference. Once you have submitted we regret it will not be possible to change any specifications.
Important Dates
Thursday 7th May, 10am-12noon: Deliver your work to the Granary, please don’t be late. 2D work must be ready to hang. Please attach D rings and cord a quarter way down from the top (for their hanging system) and make sure you have labelled the back, or underneath if 3D, with your Name, Title & Price.
Friday 8th May: Notification emails will be sent to all entrants in the morning
Friday 8th or Saturday 9th May, 10am-4pm: Collect any work which has not been selected
Saturday 9th May, 12-2pm: Meet the Artists party, all welcome
Sunday 17th May: Exhibition closes
Monday 18th May, 10-12noon: Please collect unsold work
Parking at Flatford is free if you are delivering or collecting work, invigilating or if you are a National Trust member.
Please try and stick to the delivery and collection times or make arrangements among yourselves.

By entering this exhibition you are granting permission to the Colchester Art Society to reproduce the work for promotion purposes. The Society and Gallery will take great care of the works but cannot be held responsible for loss or damage. All artists are advised to insure their own artworks.
