Gary Winterford

Gary is a painter working in both oils and acrylics.

Since graduating from the University of Essex in 2007 with a First Class BA (HONS) in Fine Art he has exhibited in and around Essex, selling work both nationally and internationally.

Gary's work over the years has focused on a combination of abstract sentimentality and the figurative, depicting his protagonists in improbable scenes.

Recent works follow people going about their normal lives in East London in the 1970's where Gary lived from 1967 to 1987.

These works are a commentary on his experiences growing up in this deprived area of London, and how decades of time distorts the memories.
