Tickets will be available from Firstsite soon.

Colchester Art Society invites you to the Autumn Lecture at Firstsite, with CAS President Simon Carter.

For more than 40 years, Frinton-based artist Simon Carter has walked, drawn and painted the landscape around him. From the Landscape reflects on this long relationship with the Essex coast in an exhibition that asks us to look at painting again.

The talk will look at the thinking behind the exhibition, how it was constructed and how, through paint, the exhibition explores the act of looking. There will be a tour of the exhibition followed by Q&A.

Simon Carter is an Essex-based artist and curator. He studied at Colchester Institute and North East London Polytechnic. Simon is President of Colchester Art Society, director of The Art of Frinton exhibitions at Oasis, Frinton and is currently represented by Messum’s.
