I live in Colchester and work from home in financial services. Although I have no formal training or qualifications in Art, I’ve always had a creative streak and a natural ability to draw and paint. From a very young age I was heavily influenced by weekly comics (Beano and Whizzer & Chips) and was always curious how to create characters and movement using “line”. I learnt to draw by copying comic characters and eventually designed my own which I copiously reproduced on homemade birthday cards, invites and posters over the years.

Last year was my most prolific period to-date. I took the plunge into painting with acrylics on canvas and created over 70 works of art. Nowadays, I mainly focus on painting landscapes, mountain scenes, seascapes, still life and abstracts when I have time spare. I consider myself a “fast” painter and try not to spend more than a day on any one work in progress. I’m always looking to move on to the next project. For me, Art is both a satisfying and relaxing pastime. It is calming and allows me to switch off the world at large. I’m truly grateful for that.
