Wendy Brooke-Smith

I am a landscape painter living near Harwich, with a BA in Fine Art from Suffolk University. My paintings begin with an emotional response to the patterns, shapes and energy of the landscape. Initial observational drawings are usually developed in the studio as larger charcoal studies, before beginning the acrylic or oil painting. My subject matter varies from large-scale urban panoramas, particularly of London and the Thames, to quiet corners of local fields and rivers - with a particular focus on the impact of change and human intervention. I exhibit in London and East Anglia.
